Hypocrites said it first! “Let Food Be Thy Medicine”
Everything we need to survive, grow, and repair ourself can be found in the food we eat. So why doesn’t eating a well balanced diet always do the trick?
A few reasons. Our body may lack the ability to efficiently absorb the nutrients we ingest, increased demand due to certain stressors on the body(physical, psychological emotional), and lastly our food supply may be nutrient deficient.
Poor absorption can be caused by a number of different reasons, from chronic stress, stomach acid and digestive enzyme deficiencies, inflammatory bowel disorders (IBS, Crohn’s, Colitis), food allergies, or diarrhea.
Increased demand for nutrition can be caused by anything from athletics, stress, sleep disturbances, illness, or surgery.
Lack of nutrients in our food is very common today, due to nutrient depleted soil, food picked early so it survives the trip from abroad, and probably most of all, because it’s more convenient and cheaper to eat lower quality food from grocery stores and fast food outlets.

A Little History
Dr. John Myers, MD is accredited as being the pioneer if intravenous (IV) vitamin and mineral therapy. Due to his success, after he died in 1984, Dr. Alan Gaby, MD, author of Nutritional Medicine, and one of the world’s foremost authorities in nutritional medicine found himself treating Dr Myers’ patients using a modified version of his original IV cocktail. It didn’t take long before he was treating patients for a variety of conditions like asthma, migraines, chronic fatigue, allergies, heart disorders etc.
IV versus Oral nutrition
IV vitamin therapy bypasses the digestive system, significantly increasing the bioavailability of nutrients into the bloodstream.
